MCC Christmas Picnic & Annual Club Plate inspection

Mini Car Club Christmas Picnic and Annual Club Plate Inspection Day, will again for this year be an early morning with breakfast being served in the picnic grounds at Warragamba Dam.

Meet at the venue at 8:00am or convoy from McDonalds Edmondson Park, Cnr Camden Valley Way and Gellibrand Road.

The convoy will leave Edmondson Park at 7:15am and travel via Camden Valley Way then Bringelly Road. At Bringelly turn right onto The Northern Road and after passing thru the township of Luddenham make a left turn onto Park Road, at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Silverdale Road then at the next roundabout head straight onto Farnsworth Ave. At Warragamba after passing the sport centre and tennis courts on your left then turn left into the large parking area and picnic area.

The club will be catering for this event so you MUST RSVP by Friday 8th December otherwise you will miss out.

Gerringong Street Parade

Once again the Mini Club of NSW has been invited to participate in the Christmas street parade. Join the celebrations when the Rotary Club of Gerringong presents the Christmas Street Parade and Party with food stalls, market and craft stalls. Santa will help bring the main street and the Old School Park to life as the street parade is led by the Illawarra Pipe Band followed by vintage cars, hot rods, trikes and community and sporting groups as they travel down the main street. Have photos taken with Santa by a professional photographer, buy unique and unusual gifts for Christmas from one of the many craft and specialty stores including clothing and toys. Other highlights include face painting for the kids and a baby animal farm. This is a Rotrary Club of Gerringong Sunrise – a fundraiser for community projects.

There is a convoy for this event which will meet at Heathcote McDonalds, cns Heathcote Road and Princess Hway. Leaving at 8:30am travelling south to meet up with Minis in the Gong members around 9:30 am at Albion Park McDonalds. Leaving here at 9:45am for the remainder of the journey to the Mick Cronan Oval, Blackwood St, Gerringong.

At the oval we will decorate our cars and form up for the procession around10:30am. The parade starts at 11am and lasts for about 1 hour after which we will park in the grounds of St Georges Church for a casual display of our cars. At this point we are free to wander around the town and look at the festivities and queue up for a steak sandwich and drink.

Swap N Show

Hi there Mini People,

The Mini Car Club of NSW will be holding a Swap Meet and Car Show on Sunday 19th November, at The Arena Sports Club, Yagoona, NSW.

We need to know numbers who will be attending for catering purposes and allocation of spaces.

Swap Meet spots are available for ALL Mini enthusiasts (YOU DON’T NEED TO BE A CLUB MEMBER) and will be about 7.5 metres by 5 metres. You can bring along anything to do with Mini’s, from a complete car to a wheel nut, but remember whatever you don’t sell has to be taken away, no rubbish is to be left behind.

Note: John from Minikingdom Online will be there plus Vic from Mini Performance Centre, so could be some NOS and treasures available?

Swap meet & Car display

The mini club is holding our first car parts swap meet and a car display in the car park at the Arena Sports Club, 140 Rookwood Road, Yagoona.

Open to ALL mini enthusiasts (you don’t need to be a mini club member) collect up all your surplus mini parts and come along for the morning.

Please Note: Swap meet sites MUST be pre-registered

Gates open at 7:30am for the Swap Meet setup in the Club’s rear carpark and will run until around 10:30 am: $15 entry fee per trader.

Breakfast BBQ: Bacon & Egg Rolls, plus coffee and tea will be available onsite for a nominal cost.

Please contact Michael to book & pay for your swap meet space as there are only a limited number of 30 spaces available.

In conjunction with the swap meet the mini club we will be also holding a Car Display in the Clubs front car park from 10:30am till 2pm: gold coin entry fee per car: spectators will be free entry.

This is a car display only and cars will NOT be judged as per show and shine rules

Included there will be:

People’s choice award and Exhibitors award presented at approx. 1pm.

Lucky door prize all entrants will be included.

Food and drinks available in the club from 10am with a $12 Sunday roast available for lunch.

Convoy to the Blue Mountains

Saturday afternoon drive to the Blue Mountains via Bells Line of Road, Mt Victoria, Katoomba and returning via the Great Western Highway for a meal at the Royal Cricketers Arms, 385 Reservoir Rd, Prospect.

Note different meeting point to previous events

Meet at McDonalds, Marsden Park, Richmond road 12:30pm for a 1:00pm Departure. We will travel west to Richmond then the Bells line of Rd to Bell. A few stops along the way at Mt Victoria or Blackheath and Katoomba before returning to Sydney via the Great Western Highway and M4 to The Royal Cricketers Arms Hotel.

Phil Briggs Mini Run

The Annual Phil Briggs Mini Run this year is to Robertson Pie Shop in the Southern Highlands.

Meeting at McDonalds, Narellan for a prompt 10am departure.

The route will be via back roads and avoiding the Motorway where possible. Arriving at Robertson before mid day.  The Robertson Markets will be running on this day, with a variety of stalls, bargains and refreshments.

All British Day and MCC Annual Show n Shine

On Sunday 27th August 2017, the annual All British Day, in conjunction with The Kings School Art Show, will be held at The Kings School, Pennant Hills Rd, North Parramatta.

Once again this event will be the main Show and Shine for the Mini Car club of NSW so clean and polish up your mini and come along for a great day with prizes and trophies awarded for various categories.

  • Commercials, Vans, Pick-ups & Variants

  • Modified, Competition

Show and Shine Entry Fee – MCC Members free, Non-members $10 for all classes  

Cars will be judged for the workmanship, detailed tidiness and cleanliness. For example, a Cooper S or Mini K that is driven every day or built to the owners requirements and is presented well, will have the same chance as a Cooper S or Mini K that has been fully restored to original specifications.

Please don’t leave unnecessary items in your Car, place them in the boot as this will not be judged, Presentation is a must.

Displaying your car with merchandise, pictures etc. is encouraged to make it a whole presentation of the vehicle on the day.

Trophies will be awarded for 1st and 2nd Place in each class.

Car of the Show for MCCNSW members only.

Display only cars are very welcome.

For entry to Kings School prepaid tickets costing $10 each are required, and the numbers are limited, so get in early.

The Mini Car Club has again purchased a block of entry tickets which for members are free and non-members $10. Trailer tickets are also required if you are towing your car into the site so please advise if this is required.

Please Note: The Association of British Car Clubs has requested for all non-car club members to contact one of the associated clubs for the pre purchase of tickets.

Gates open at 6.30am with the aim to have all cars in place by 9.00am

To aid the free flow of traffic into the site all tickets must be firmly fixed to the inside of your windscreen. If you lose your ticket or don’t have a ticket then you will be directed to a separate parking area until traffic marshals can attend and provide a ticket at a cost of $15.

Taking in some of New South Wales most breathtaking scenery, the 7th annual Rylstone Classic will be held from August 19 to 20, 2017. This FREE 2 day event is for Mini owners and enthusiasts with other classic vehicles accepted upon application.

The Rylstone Classic will encompass a range of novelty activities and will be conducted at a leisurely pace, befitting the vintage of our vehicles.

Please note that all planned competition events are designed purely for the enjoyment of competitors and the focus is entirely on enjoying a relaxed weekend of classic Mini focused events.

Convoy: Meet at M4 Westbound McDonalds, 10:00am for 10:30am departure. Enjoy a leisurely drive as we travel via Yarramundi and Hawkesbury Heights to Leura and return via Great Western Highway.

Lunch @ Alexandra Hotel, 62 Great Western Highway, Leura, NSW, followed by sightseeing around the Blue Mountains at your leisure.

General Meeting

All members and friends are invited to come along to Club General Meetings which are now held at the Arena Sports Club, 140 Rookwood Road, YAGOONA. (The Old Greyhound & Social Club).

Arrive 7:30pm for an 8:00pm start.

The Club has a Bistro if you want to arrive early for dinner or a light snack, full Bar Facilities and Coffee making open from 6:00pm-8:30pm.

Plenty of off street parking.

Chris Collett, Vice President from the Historic Touring Car Association of NSW will be our guest speaker for the April General meeting. Chris will be presenting a short overview of the HTCA NSW followed by Q&A

The Historic Touring Car Association of NSW was established in 1980 to foster and promote Historic Touring Car racing in Australia in conjunction with other forms of Historic Car racing. Historic Touring Cars NSW caters for production touring and touring cars built before 31st December 1972.

Convoy to The Skillion, Terrigal

Sunday morning drive to Terrigal for Fish and Chips or picnic lunch at the Skillion

Meet at Thornleigh McDonalds at 9:00am for 9:30am departure.  Travel via Pennant Hills road to Hornsby, Berowra then onto the old Pacific Highway to Somersby, through Gosford, Erina  to Terrigal.

Distance 75Km, approx. 90 minute drive

Parking at the Skillion and enjoy a walk around the cliffs followed by Fish and Chips from the Haven Café, one of the other eateries or bring your own picnic.

The second Mini Kingdom Online Open day and Show and Shine is scheduled for Saturday 25th March 2017, at Mini Kingdom Online premises Unit2/ 32 Groves Avenue, Mulgrave, NSW 2756.                 Gates open at 8:30am with judging to commence from 10:30am, Raffle draw at 1:30pm with show and shine results and trophy presentation at 2:00pm

Mini Kingdom Online will be open and selling all of his mini goods plus have a number of specials for the day.

Sausage sizzle and drinks will be available for purchase with money being raised donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Once again this event is being promoted and run by the Mini Car club so clean and polish up your mini and come along for a great day with prizes and trophies awarded for these categories.

Cars will be judged for the workmanship, detailed tidiness and cleanliness.   For example, a Cooper S or Mini K that is driven every day or built to the owners requirements and is presented well, will have the same chance as a Cooper S or Mini K that has been fully restored to original specifications.

Please don’t leave unnecessary items in your car as presentation is a must.

Displaying your car with merchandise, pictures etc. is encouraged to make it a whole presentation of the vehicle on the day.

Trophies will be awarded for 1st and 2nd Place in each class

Your car is not required to be entered into the Show and Shine to be part of this event.  Display only cars are very welcome

Trailer parking will be required off site in the street or at nearby business parking areas as directed. Please advise prior to arrival if you require trailer parking

Gates open at 8.30am with the aim to have all cars in place by 10.00am

Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Motor Fest

On Saturday 11th March, Members of the Mini Car Club who are attending this event will have an early start meeting at McDonalds Thornleigh at 6:15am and leaving promptly at 6:30am to travel to Hawks Nest. There will be a brief stop and a pick up for the Newcastle and Hunter Valley members at 8:45am at McDonalds on the north side of Raymond Terrace, we will need to travel through Raymond Terrace to reach this stop location. Then leaving here at 9:00am and arriving at around 9:45am for the start of the Motorfest 2017, at Myall Park Sports Oval, off Yamba St.

Note: Distance from Thornleigh to Raymond Terrace is approx. 150km then to Hawkes Nest is a further 49km, Total distance is 199km.

Returning home at your leisure on Saturday afternoon or Sunday after Breakfast.

If you are planning to stay overnight on Saturday then accommodation can possibly be arranged at Hawkes Nest Motel, 3/5 Yamba St, Hawks Nest, phone        4997 1166.

Convoy to Highland Steam & Vintage Fair – Oberon

UPDATE:

Due to the extreme hot weather predicted this Saturday,(Temperatures to be around 40 degrees), for the sake of man and machine, regrettably it has been decided not to do official Mini Car Club convoy’s to the “Oberon Steam and Machinery Fair” this Saturday.

Michael Benton will not be attending, and advises for people to check the weather forecast before making a decision to attend, the choice to attend the Oberon Fair will be entirely each individuals choice.

The organizers of the Oberon Steam Fair have confirmed the event will be on regardless of weather conditions.

Members of the Mini Car Club who are attending this event can assemble at either of two meeting points.

# Meet at McDonalds on M4 westbound near Eastern Creek departing promptly at 7.15am and travelling to Bowenfells (Lithgow) via Great Western Highway, (1hr 30 min).

# Or alternatively members travelling from north west can meet at the BP servo at Kurmond departing at 7.45am, and then travelling Bells Line of Road, (1hr 10min) to rendezvous at the Shell Service Station on the Highway at Bowenfells on the outskirts of Lithgow, at 8:45am.

The combined group will then leave promptly at 9.00am and travel the remainder of the journey via Rydal Sodwalls Tarana Rd and Lowes Mount Rd to Oberon visiting the fair on Saturday and returning at your leisure of Saturday afternoon.

The Grand Rally street parade of heritage steam machinery commences at 10am.

Come & Try Day

A day for those wishing to gain more experience in motorkhanas or to just “have a go” for the first time. Some of the experienced drivers in the club will be on hand to offer tuitions. This event will be held at our club grounds, Bandon Rd, Riverstone (cross the railway ling and follow the road down to the end, please shut the gate). There are no costs to enter and food will be available at a small cost.

Scrutineering starts from 8:00am, drivers briefing at 9:45am, event starts at 10:00am.

There will be no catering at this event, please ensure you bring along some light snacks and plenty of fluids.
